Child

I’m surrounded by all kinds of new things – sights, sounds, smells, and textures – and every day for me is a new adventure into seeing and experiencing things that are brand new to me. It can be a little overwhelming! You can help me to start understanding what things are by telling me the names for things. If I hear a bird singing, point to the bird and tell me its name. If I’m trying a new food, tell me what it is and what kind of taste it has. I’ll start learning more and more words for things the more you tell me what they are. You can also use words like hot, cold, above, under, small and big to help me learn.
