Now that I know more about the world around me, I’ll discover times when I have to solve problems. I might be trying to do something with my hands that I haven’t tried before (like turning a knob), or playing with a simple puzzle. Although it might be tempting to do things for me, let me try to do these new things on my own. This will help build my confidence to try new things. I’ll let you know if I need help, and when you support me and show me how to do things while letting me try and try again, I’ll know you’ll be there for me as I try even more complicated things when I’m older. When I need your help, break it into smaller tasks, still helping only with the parts that I cannot do, and letting me do those tasks I can do.
