Child

When I was really little, I probably played with toys mostly by touching and tasting them. Now that I’ve learned more about the objects in my world, I can start using them to play pretend. You might see me pick up a remote control and hold it to my face like a telephone or start pretending that my toys are alive and take care of them like they are babies. When I do this, this means I’ve started to attach meaning to objects – a huge step for my growing brain! Make sure my play space is filled with different types of objects for me to play with and take the time to play with me when I play pretend!
