As I learn more and more about the things around me, I’ll start noticing when objects have things in common. This is an important skill for me – not only does it teach me new words when I learn to sort things into different groups, it’s also one of the first skills I need to do well in math when I’m older. You can give me objects that I can sort by color, size, shape… while I may not understand at first, when you play with me and show me how things can be sorted, I’ll really enjoy showing you how I do it and see how you react when I’m successful.
