My vocabulary has gotten so big and I’m adding new words every day! Even though I’ve learned lots of things to say, sometimes using my words is hard, and I might get frustrated or try using actions like pointing or grabbing when I want something that I’m not sure how to ask for. Even if you know from my actions what I want, make sure to encourage me to use my words to ask for things and to express myself – I may not do it perfectly, but telling me the words I might be trying to say will help me learn how to use them as I grow older. Of course, if I am really upset, I may need your help calming first. Just like you, it may be hard for me to think of words when I am upset.
