One of the most important things you can do for me, no matter how old I am, is to help me feel prepared for what each day will bring. This means trying to keep a routine, or schedule, for me and being consistent. My schedule will change as I get older, and that’s okay! You can help me prepare for a change in routine by introducing new things to me over time and talking to me about changes. When I know what to expect, it makes me feel safe and secure.
