I learn a lot from my dad from the very beginning, even if you don’t realize it. When my dad is engaged in my life during pregnancy and the first years, I am likely to have fewer complications during birth and I’m more likely to attend well-visits with the pediatrician to support my health and development. When I feel you hold me or talk to me, tell me about your day, play peek-a-boo, pick me up when I’m crying or when you help give me a bath, I get to know you and you get to know me. I feel cared for and loved. I’m also more likely to grow up with greater compassion for others and problem-solving skills because of your involvement from the beginning, so thank you, dad!
